FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
File Requirements & Artwork Guidelines
What file types do you accept?
We accept .TIF, .TIFF, .EPS, .AI, .PSD, .JPG, .PNG, and .PDF.
What is the maximum file size?
Each file must be 100MB or smaller.
Can I upload multi-page PDFs?
No. Only single-page PDFs are supported. Multi-page PDFs will render page 1 and ignore the rest.
What resolution should my files be?
What is bleed and why is it important?
Bleed is extra space beyond the trim line to prevent white edges after cutting. Always extend images to the bleed lines using our templates to ensure your design prints correctly.
Will my design print correctly if it doesn’t reach the bleed?
No. Images must extend to the bleed lines to avoid uneven borders or white edges.
Do I need to include fonts?
No. Outline all fonts before uploading. For Photoshop, provide a flattened file.
Do I need to flatten my files?
Yes. Flattening avoids layering and transparency issues.
How do I flatten my files?
- Photoshop: Unlock layers → Right-click → Flatten Image → Save as Photoshop PDF in CMYK at 300 dpi.
- Adobe Acrobat Pro: Tools → Print Production → Flattener Preview → Adjust settings → Apply → Save.
Do I need crop marks or guidelines?
No. Remove all template guides or crop marks before uploading.
What is a low-resolution or pixelated image?
Low-resolution images have fewer pixels per inch and will print blurry. Internet images are usually 72 dpi—always use high-resolution files.
Do you have templates?
Yes. Download blank templates for all products on each product page.
Will transparency in my file print correctly?
No. Always flatten your files, as transparent elements may not print correctly.
What is the difference between raster and vector files?
Raster: Pixel-based, resolution-dependent (Photoshop). Low-res rasters may print blurry if enlarged.
Vector: Path-based (Illustrator), scalable without losing quality. Raster effects in vectors require high-resolution settings to print cleanly.
Should I include borders in my design?
Borders are not recommended. Cutting shifts may make them appear uneven, especially on small products like business cards.
What is the minimum font size for printing?
We recommend no smaller than 8 pt for most fonts. Test prints at home if unsure.
Color & Ink Guidelines
What kind of inks do you use?
All products use standard 4-color process inks (CMYK). Color density below 15% may not print.
Do you print white, metallic, or raised inks?
No. We do not print white, metallic, foil, or embossed designs.
Do you color match or print Pantone colors?
No. We print only CMYK process colors. Spot or Pantone colors must be converted to CMYK. Color may vary up to 15%.
What is the difference between RGB and CMYK?
RGB and CMYK are two different color modes used for different purposes. RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue. It is the color mode used for digital screens like computers, phones, and TVs. Colors are created by mixing light, so RGB is called an “additive” color model. Bright, vivid colors like neon greens or electric blues look great in RGB, but they cannot always be reproduced in print.
CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (K). It is the color mode used for printing because printers use physical ink, not light. CMYK is called a “subtractive” color model, meaning inks are layered on paper to subtract brightness from white. Some bright RGB colors may look duller when converted to CMYK, since inks have a smaller color range than screens.
For best results, always convert your artwork to CMYK before uploading. This ensures the colors you see on your monitor are closer to what will actually print.
What colors should I avoid?
Blues and reds are the hardest to match accurately.
What is overprinting and how do I avoid it?
Overprinting occurs when two or more colors overlap to create a third color. Turn on Overprint Preview in Adobe Acrobat to check your file and avoid unexpected color results.
File Preparation & Design Help
What if I don’t know how to make my own design?
We do not provide design or editing services. Files must be print-ready. For assistance, see Design Services.
Why can’t you correct my files for me?
We print only from your print-ready files to ensure the final product matches your design. Changes could alter your intended results.
Orders & Submission
Can I upload new files after my order is approved or in print?
No. Once the order is “Approved” or “In Print,” files cannot be changed.
Do you sell blank cards?
No. Upload a plain white design if you want a blank product.
Are there content limitations?
We do not print adult content, copyrighted material, discriminatory content, FDA-regulated items, or currency.
Proofs & Color Accuracy
Why didn’t I receive an online proof?
Online proofs are available only for JPG, JPEG, or PNG files. PDFs, AI, EPS, TIF, TIFF, and PSD files do not generate instant proofs.
Why do online proofs look different from my file?
Online proofs display in RGB for screens. Printing is done in CMYK, which may cause color differences. Proofs are for layout, cuts, and folds, not exact color accuracy.
Why do printed colors differ from my files?
We guarantee approximately 85% color match to industry standards. Converting your file to CMYK before uploading improves accuracy.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
We ship to the 48 contiguous U.S. states only. UPS or FedEx delivers all orders. PO Boxes are not accepted.
Can I use my own shipping account?
No. We use our designated carriers only.
Can I combine multiple orders?
No. Orders are shipped individually when completed.
How is my shipping carrier determined?
Carrier is based on zip code, product type, and weight. Tracking information is emailed once your order ships.
Why doesn’t my tracking number work?
It may take a few hours for the carrier system to update. Shipments leaving our facility today may not show immediately.
What if I supply the wrong shipping address?
We will reship to the correct address and charge an additional shipping fee.
When will my order ship?
Orders ship after printing is complete. You will receive an email with tracking information.
Can I place an order by phone or in person?
No. All orders must be placed online. Pickup is not available.
Why don’t you call me if there’s an issue?
All communication is via email for efficiency and tracking purposes.
Troubleshooting & Issues
Why does my printed product look off-center or have press marks?
Shifting can occur during cutting. Use our templates and avoid borders to reduce this risk. Extra prints may have minor press marks.
How do I report a problem with my order?
Use the “Report an Order Issue” link in the website footer to submit claims for printing errors, damage, or lost packages.
Tax & Exemptions
Are you tax-exempt?
Sales tax is collected only in Utah. Utah customers must upload documentation to receive tax-exempt status. Customers in other states are not charged sales tax.
